Ludwig Schmidtpeter works in the fields of installation, photography, video and martial arts. His artistic practice can be described as documentary, transcendental and post-conceptual.<\/p>\n

Schmidtpeter studied Fine Arts with a focus on New Media at Hochschule der Bildenden Kuenste Saar (HBKsaar) with Prof. Ulrike Rosenbach and Tamas Waliczky.<\/p>\n

After the groundbreaking success of the syndikaton\u2122<\/a> collective 2007, Schmidtpeter retired for seven years to Balconia.<\/del><\/p>\n

Eventually he fell ill with a depression caused by procrastination, from which he could only free himself by reading writings on Wuwei (\u7121\u70ba) and daily sitting practice.<\/p>\n

Schmidtpeter recombines everyday objects and questions their character as a work as defined by Heidegger. Overcoming the virtual and contextual duality as artistic method leads him to the creation of truly transcendental objects.<\/p>\n

His most important work so far is a mobile phone nailed to a wooden block (Salvation<\/a> 2013, private collection).<\/p>\n

Schmidtpeter is a renowned expert in the breeding of spaghettimonsters. He determines their aesthetic half-life employing various imaging techniques (in progress).<\/p>\n

Currently, the artist works on a publication on media abstinence in the context of rating power of social networks<\/a> with a primary focus on immediate presence<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ludwig Schmidtpeter bewegt sich in den Bereichen Installation, Fotografie, Video und Kampfkunst. Seine k\u00fcnstlerische Praxis ist dokumentarisch, transzendental und post-konzeptuell.<\/p>\n

Schmidtpeter studierte Freie Kunst mit Schwerpunkt Neue k\u00fcnstlerische Medien an der Hochschule der Bildenden K\u00fcnste Saar (HBKsaar) bei Ulrike Rosenbach und Tamas Waliczky.<\/p>\n

Nach dem bahnbrechenden Erfolg des Kollektivs Syndikaton\u2122<\/a>, 2007, zog sich Schmidtpeter f\u00fcr sieben Jahre auf Balconia zur\u00fcck. In dieser Zeit erkrankte er an einer Prokrastinationsdepression, aus der er sich aber durch die Besch\u00e4ftigung mit Schriften \u00fcber das Nichthandeln (\u7121\u70ba<\/span>) und t\u00e4gliche Sitzpraxis befreien konnte.<\/p>\n

Schmidtpeter befragt Alltagsgegenst\u00e4nde durch Rekombination auf ihren potenziellen Werkgehalt im heideggerschen Sinn. Durch Aufhebung der virtuellen und kontextuellen Dualit\u00e4t als Arbeitsprinzip generiert er wahrhaftige, transzendentale Objekte.<\/p>\n

Sein wichtigstes Werk ist bislang ein Mobiltelefon, das auf einen Holzblock genagelt wurde (Salvation<\/a> 2013, in Privatbesitz).<\/p>\n

Schmidtpeter ist anerkannter Experte bei der Z\u00fcchtung von Spaghettimonstern und bestimmt ihre \u00e4sthetische Halbwertszeit mit verschiedenen bildgebenden Verfahren (in progress).<\/p>\n

Im Augenblick arbeitet der K\u00fcnstler an einer Publikation \u00fcber mediale Abstinenz im Kontext sozialer Netzwerke mit Bewertungsmacht<\/a> unter besonderer Ber\u00fccksichtigung des Hier und Jetzt.<\/a><\/p>\n
